This is 22% of the assessed species. The trend over time is that the number of threatened species is increasing in Sweden. Between 2015 and 2020, the number increased by 11%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>A species may be red-listed because, for instance, it has a small or declining population, a small distribution or because of fragmentation of the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of red-listed species live in forest and agricultural land. 10% of Sweden&#8217;s forest species are red-listed. One explanation for this is that Sweden&#8217;s woodland is being transformed into increasingly biologically monotonous production forests.
