Business Move Biodiversity Positions Forward

As in finance, there are several examples of business initiatives focusing on biodiversity.

  • Business for Nature is one of the largest initiatives, bringing together more than 1,000 companies to urge politicians to set ambitious biodiversity targets.
  • The World Economic Forum has biodiversity as one of its top two priorities, alongside climate. Through several reports, they show how biodiversity loss is relevant to businesses, putting the issue on the agenda of business leaders worldwide.
  • The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is calling on its members to sign a commitment to halt biodiversity loss. They have also developed nature positive roadmaps for companies within the forest, agri-food and built environment sector, as well as a general roadmap for all businesses.
  • The Business@Biodiversity Sweden network is the Swedish branch of similar business networks around the world. The network is an arena for the exchange of knowledge between companies and a forum for learning about the latest developments in the world.
