Gaining Access to Land Through Environmental Permits

Environmental assessment requirements may be increased as the state of biodiversity deteriorates. Obtaining access to land for the development of new or existing operations is one of the most difficult issues for the Swedish mining and mineral industry. At the same time, access to land and obtaining permits for extraction and processing is crucial.

By working proactively on biodiversity, we as an industry hope to strengthen trust between operators, society and authorities. An operator that demonstrates that it operates with a high level of environmental consideration must be considered to be in a good position to obtain environmental permits for new and continued operations. By working to increase biodiversity, we also increase our own competence in anticipating and dealing with important issues for future environmental assessments.
